T-Shirt Tuesday: GaMeRS

After a long weekend of travel and starting a new IT job I am happy to be back on campus working on projects. Sometime soon I have a new Pathfinder game that I'll be in as a swashbuckler and this weekend I will be in a very beautiful piratey/steampunky type wedding as a bridesmaid!

As for today I am sporting a shirt for the Game Mechanics Research Studio, a group that I will now represent as treasurer. Tomorrow we have a meeting about MMO's at 1 pm.

I like to kick it by the pinball machines in our small campus arcade on breaks. If you would like to check out our logo and help us raise funds to travel to game studios then check out our store. As treasurer this request is my first official act. Hehe.

Stay tuned for more! I hope to have a contest up and running next week.

Rosie the Retrogamer

That's right. The image that has been co-opted for numerous causes now finds itself a place in the heart of this original 80's gamer.

Head to Shirt Woot if you want to buy one for $10 and perhaps accidentally run into me sometime while I'm wearing it and you're wearing it and BOOM we'll be TWINS! (Anne of Distilled Geek Commentary knows about this and even my arch-nemesis Osmotic Ricardo has found himself wearing a black shirt and dark green pants on the same day as myself).

What's even more perfect is that it's T-Shirt Tuesday around these parts! Woot! Indeed.

T-Shirt Tuesday

Since I played "D&D" this past weekend I thought I'd keep the momentum going with an RPG inspired t-shirt for this Tuesday's edition.

Now, I'm sure people don't want to see me every week in a different T-shirt (although Cthulhu knows I own enough to keep this going awhile) so, I issue you web denizens a proclamation.

"Henceforth and herewith I do so declare that anyone who sendeth forth a photograph in which said individual is wearing a T-shirt that this blogger does deem acceptable to the masses will be featured on T-SHIRT TUESDAY!"

Okay, so above is my D20 shirt. I really debated buying this but decided I liked the humour enough to go ahead and exploit the double meaning. This shirt proved popular with the other ladies I game with, so that's cool.

Once I start going to all the conventions I have lined up I will try to persuade people with cool shirts to let me feature them on the blog. I'll catch my kind in their natural habitats!

If you'd like to submit something e-mail chronicgeeker@gmail.com.

Tokidoki Thor

A good friend picked this delightful Thor t-shirt up for me in a comic shop hours from my home. I don't usually wear t-shirts that aren't black, but I'll be making an exception (or just wearing a black long-sleeve under it, ha!) for this piece of goodness.

Here's a view of the back. Since I love anything that is manga-style and I love American comics this is a fun mash-up of styles.

So, I guess it's T-shirt Tuesday around here! Although, since it's Thor related I debated posting this on a Thursday, since that would be more in keeping with our hero....

Since we are on the subject of Thor and Marvel I want to also mention the excellent one-shot comic about Sif. If you haven't read it yet check it out. The art and storytelling is wonderfully dark. The Sif one-shot is part of Marvel's focus on women in comics in 2010 and I couldn't be happier with what they have done so far this year to spotlight women in comics. As a comic book reader for now over two decades it's exactly the kind of move I think the industry needs.
